After much prayer and careful consideration, I have made the decision to suspend my campaign for Congress.

Five months ago, from our family farm in North Iowa, I chose to join this race because I believed we could not sit idly by while the things that matter most in this country were being neglected, weakened, and openly attacked. I still believe that.

I am proud of the campaign we ran. We spoke plainly and without apology about faith, the rule of law, secure borders, honest government, and the moral foundation that made this country strong. As a true political outsider, we have achieved a tremendous amount over a few, short months. Unfortunately, the campaign is not where it needs to be for us to continue forward at this time.

The decision to suspend this campaign was not made lightly. I am deeply grateful to everyone who supported this effort: those who prayed for me, encouraged me, welcomed me into your communities, and stood with me along the way. I will not forget your kindness or your belief in what we were fighting for.

Though I am suspending my campaign, I am not stepping away from the fight. The stakes are too high, and the need is too great, for any of us to sit back and do nothing. We must continue to stand with courage, speak with clarity, and defend the values that matter most. The future of America must belong to an American people.

We are blessed to have a field of great candidates running in races across Iowa. I encourage every Iowan who believes in these values to get involved and elect conservative leaders who will represent the people.

Thank you again to everyone who stood with me. It has been a true honor and I look forward to the roads that God will make known in the years to come.

Respectfully,

Christian Schlaefer
